ENJOYING some festive outings with the kids can end up costing a small fortune.
But with a bit of careful planning, you don’t need to feel like a Scrooge. Here, we see how you can save on days out.
GET YOUR SKATES ON: Save on ice skating by booking off-peak. At London Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, pay £30 rather than £42 for a family ticket.
BUY IN ADVANCE: Purchase tickets ahead of your trip — enjoy the Christmas “bricktacular” events at the Birmingham and Manchester LEGOLAND Discovery centres for just £17.50 per adult ticket, compared to £21.95 on the day.
Pay £13.50 for a child, down from £16.95.
SAVE: £4.45 per adult and £3.45 per child.
GRAB A BUNDLE: Rather than shelling out for lots of different festive activities, head to Chessington World of Adventures where highlights include a Wild Christmas panto and the chance to meet reindeers.
Tickets start from £20 per person online. Pre-booking essential.
SAVE: around £100 compared to buying separate tickets for events.
PACKAGE DEAL: Save money visiting Drayton Manor’s Magical Christmas with the Stay and Play package.
It includes an overnight stay in the four-star hotel, theme park tickets and entry to Magical Christmas plus Grotto Experience.

JOIN THE CLUB: Tesco Clubcard members can get three times the value of vouchers when booking days out, so take advantage over Christmas.
With £10 worth of vouchers, you could save £30 at Cineworld, for example.
