The first phase result included a total of 12,184 schools of which 1,256 schools have been declared in the green zone, 1,036 schools in the red zone while 14 schools have been declared in black zone. The schools are put in three colour zones in which green zone schools are the top performing schools with scores above 75 marks, the schools that get 51-75 marks are put in the yellow zone, schools that get 25-50 marks are put in the red zone while the worst performers- scoring less than 25 marks- are put in the black zone.
The green zone is divided in four categories with green zone – 4 at the top. The results show that 11 schools have been put in the green zone – 4, 81 schools in green zone – 3, 329 schools in green zone – 2 and 835 schools in green zone – 1.
The results showed that 11 of the green zone – 4 schools, including two schools from Ahmedabad and Dholka scored 90% or more. Three schools from Surat have topped the first phase results.
According to the state education department, around 32,000 government primary schools were inspected this year. Gunotsav was first conducted in 2009 and the second edition started from 2019.
The results showed that 57 of the primary schools run by the Ahmedabad Municipal Board have made it in the green zone and 128 schools in the yellow zone. Not a single Ahmedabad school has been rated in red or black zones. In all eight municipal school boards across the state, Ahmedabad Municipal Board schools performed the best.
