Sykes Holiday Cottages launched a competition to find the best holiday let in Britain to champion what we have to offer right here.

Properties were judged on their customer reviews, location and facilities.

Despite only being up and running for six months, The Sheiling bagged the title of best holiday let as well as best view.

The circular wooden lodge is on the edge of a loch and boasts a waterside hot tub and wrap-around deck.

The two-bedroom lodge can sleep up to four people and week-long stays cost £320pp.

Tithe Barn, a Grade-II listed building, dates back to 1737 and was once a building where residents came to pay their taxes.
