Ana Walshe: Latest on the Missing Massachusetts mom

Missing mother Ana Walshe was reportedly making plans for her future when she vanished without a trace on New Year’s Day in mysterious circumstances.

The mother-of-three, 39, was last seen in the early hours of 1 January at her home in Cohasset, Massachusetts and was reported missing on 4 January.

Her husband Brian Walshe, a convicted arts fraudster, claims he last saw her when she left for the airport on New Year’s Day.

He was arrested on 8 January and charged with hindering the police investigation into her disappearance.

Now, the search to find the missing mother is in its third week.

To date, investigators have found a bloodied knife in the basement of the couple’s home and blood, a hatchet and a hacksaw in a nearby trash site.

Friends have spoken of their concern over her disappearance with one source telling Fox News Digital that Ms Walshe had been making plans for the future and was selling off some of her assets so that she could reinvest in a new home.

Police logs have also revealed that she was first reported missing by her employer and not her convicted conman husband.

Who is Brian Walshe’s attorney?

Brian Walshe hired one of the top criminal defense attorneys in Massachusetts to defend him on charges of misleading a police investigation into his wife Ana’s disappearance.

Tracy Miner, a partner at Miner Siddall LLP, previously represented the ex-FBI agent John Connolly, who was convicted of aiding mobster James “Whitey” Bulger in 2002, and is a past president of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

“She has successfully represented high profile individuals and major corporations in a broad range of matters, including health care fraud, securities fraud, bribery, extortion, RICO offenses, and environmental and defense contracting cases,” according to a biography on her firm’s website.

Ms Miner has secured acquittals in 10 out of her last 13 trials, the website states.

Ana Walshe, 39, tried to reach her mother, sister and maid-of-honour in Serbia at around midnight on New Year’s Eve and again at 1am, her mom Milanka Ljubicic told Fox News in an interview.

The family members were asleep at the time, while Ms Walshe’s friend was at a New Year’s Eve party and didn’t hear her phone, Ms Ljubicic told Fox News from her home in the Serbian capital of Belgrade.

“And now, I regret not getting the phone, because she’s disappeared,” Ms Ljubicic said.

Ana Walshe was first reported missing by employer – not conman husband

Police in Cohasset, Massachusetts, state in the call logs released to the Cohasset Anchor news site that they received a call from her employer Tishman Speyer at 11.44am on 4 January to request a well-being check for Ms Walshe.

The caller tells police that the “company has contacted the husband … he has not filed a missing person report”.

The logs appear to contradict comments made by the lawyer representing Ms Walshe’s husband Brian Walshe when he appeared in court last week to be arraigned on charges of misleading police.

Mystery over missing mom Ana Walshe’s ‘big surprise’ for New Year

Three days before Ana Walshe was reported missing, she and her husband Brian told their longterm tenants they were abruptly selling their rental property.

Mike Silva told CBS Boston it felt like a personal betrayal as he had been led to believe the Walshes would eventually sell the apartment they had lived in for four years in Revere, Massachusetts, to he and his fiancée Mandi.

Ms Walshe, 39, was last seen in the early hours of 1 January at her home in Cohasset, Massachusetts.

Friends told NBC Washington that she had been rushing to get rid of assets including an apartment and her car in late-December and had promised “a big surprise” in the New Year.

Ana Walshe vanished on New Years. Now her fraudster husband is facing charges. What happened?

But police say that there is no evidence she ever took a ride-share to Boston’s Logan Airport as planned and she has not been seen since the early hours of 1 January.

When her husband and bosses reported her missing on 4 January, a police search was launched in and around the family’s property in Cohasset, Massachusetts, as well as their home in Washington’s Chevy Chase neighbourhood.

It later emerged that Mr Walshe searched the internet for “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body”, two law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation told CNN, and bought $450 of items that included cleaning supplies, mops and tape from a nearby Home Depot store on 2 January.
