The Week 6 NFL slate is smaller than usual, with two teams on a bye (Packers and Steelers).
But there are still plenty of options to choose from in the PrizePicks lobby.
I’ll be using my four favorite picks in both the Flex Play and the Power Play slips on PrizePicks, which could potentially return an upside of 10x, but also leaves me something in case only three of the four picks end up being correct.
My four favorite Week 6 picks:
T.J. Hockenson more than 5.5 receptions
This was an easy click for me.
The Minnesota Vikings tight end has averaged 6.0 receptions and 7.8 targets per game this season playing alongside Justin Jefferson, who owned a 38% target share before a hamstring injury landed him on injured reserve.
Jefferson’s injury opens up a ton of targets for the other pass-catchers in Minnesota’s offense.
There’s a good chance Hockenson sees his target share jump to around 25%, which could put him in the double-digit target range against the Bears on Sunday.
It’s a great matchup for Hockenson, as Chicago is ranked 31st in pass DVOA and 26th in fantasy points allowed to tight ends this season.
Gardner Minshew more than 222.5 passing yards
Whenever possible, I like to build a little correlation into my selections on PrizePicks. I’m rolling with two players in the Indianapolis Colts’ passing attack this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The first is Minshew, who will be looking to exact some revenge against his former team. He’s one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL and his passing projection is set at a modest 222.5 yards.
The Jaguars, who own a top-5 run defense, have been middling against the pass. The Colts should have more success through the air than on the ground.
This is a tough spot on the schedule for the Jaguars. After playing two games in London, they now travel back home and play two games in the span of five days.
Michael Pittman Jr. more than 60.5 receiving yards
Seeing as how I like Minshew to throw for more than 225.5 yards, I also like his top wideout to rack up more than 60.5 receiving yards.
Pittman, who has run a route on 89% of dropbacks this season, has encouraging target (27%) and air-yard (29%) shares.
He caught 8-of-11 targets for 97 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Jaguars and had his second-best game of the season in Minshew’s only other full game (9 receptions for 77 yards against the Ravens in Week 3).
Betting on the NFL?
Brett Maher more than 1.5 field goals made
The Rams have played better than most expected, especially on offense.
Matthew Stafford has this team moving the chains and Sean McVay has them playing at a very fast pace.
This is always a positive for a kicker, as is the fact that the Rams haven’t had much success on the ground.
Maher didn’t have any field goal attempts last week, but made three in each of L.A.’s first four games.
The Rams should have no problem moving the ball against the Cardinals, who are 30th in total defensive DVOA.
