1983 America’s Cup: WA to relive historic win at Fremantle community event

Forty years after Bob Hawke celebrated that famous America’s Cup win by telling Australians “any boss who sacks a worker for not turning up today is a bum”, West Aussies will once again have the chance to relive the glory.

The WA Government is holding a free community event on Sunday, September 24, at Fremantle, which will mark the 40th anniversary of the historic win.
