An NFC West showdown will take place in the desert as the scorching-hot San Francisco 49ers take on the Arizona Cardinals. The 49ers are double-digit road favorites and will look to extend their five-game winning streak.
Kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday at State Farm Stadium. The game will be televised on CBS.
Arizona native Brock Purdy comes into the game undefeated against the Cardinals. Purdy has played himself into MVP consideration, averaging 304 passing yards with 13 total touchdowns over his previous five games. But the defense has been just as impressive. Since giving up 31 points to the Bengals in Week 8, San Francisco is allowing just 13 points per game, with none of the five opponents reaching 20 points. They allow the fewest rushing yards per game (78.3) in the league.
The Cardinals have gone 2-2 since the return of Kyler Murray in Week 10. Murray is still knocking off some rust; he has a 60.8 completion percentage and has thrown three touchdowns in his four games. However, concerns that his injury would slow his rushing production were quickly silenced after he scored a rushing touchdown in his first three games. Second-year tight end Trey McBride has been the primary beneficiary of Murray’s return, averaging seven catches and 80.8 yards in Murray’s four games.
San Francisco is the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season.
