After first London store opens, Ksubi enters kidswear for first time

Global streetwear brand Ksubi has taken on a new category with the launch of its ‘Kids’ clothing line.

The brand, “known for its rebellious style and signature distressed denim”, said the expansion into childrenswear for 2-5 year-olds marks “a milestone… translating its iconic aesthetic into pint-sized fashion statements for the future generations”.

It also mirrors the brand’s “commitment to beautifully imperfect, lived-in designs that have garnered a global cult-following”.

The debut collection features a “mini-me rendition” of Ksubi’s signature denim and premium 4×4 basics.

The line-up includes the Lil Jett jean and the Lil Oh G denim jacket, to be paired back with the Lil Biggie Tee and Lil Biggie Crew. The collection is available in Black, Grey Marl and Magenta colourways. The 4×4 sweatpants and shorts are reimagined as the Lil Trak and Lil Track Short in the same colorways, it said.

The collection is available at Ksubi.com and Ksubi stores globally from 7 December.

Last month, Ksubi opened its first London standalone store with a new home on one of the West End’s most popular shopping thoroughfares, Carnaby Street.

It coincided with the launch of a limited-edition collaboration with London-based artist Slawn and Ksubi CEO Craig King said: “London’s been calling us for some time with its buzzing music and arts communities.”

This year has seen strong developments in the UK kidswear sector ranging from Monsoon opening its first dedicated boutique store for the category at Westfield, Stratford City, luxury e-tail giant Farfetch launching its There Was One kids line, British luxury label Represent developing its bestselling Owners’ Club range to create a childrenswear offer, and digital luxury childrenswear retailer Il Porticciolo opening its first physical  boutique on London’s King’s Road.
