KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Al-Arabi anticipates securing third place in the basketball league as they face off against Kazma at 6:30 pm in the Al-Ittihad Hall within the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Hall Complex. This encounter marks the second “Playoff” series match, determining the third and fourth positions.

Having narrowly clinched victory in its previous showdown with a score of 94-91, Al-Arabi aims to replicate its success and secure the bronze medal in the tournament.

The league’s final match will feature Kuwait Club and Al-Qadisiya, contested over a five-match “play-off” system starting next Friday. The ultimate title will be bestowed upon the team achieving three victories.

During the semi-final matches, Al-Arabi withdrew against Kuwait Club in the second encounter, citing dissatisfaction with the arbitration, following a close defeat in the initial match. Eager to reclaim podium positions absent for the past decade, the green team displays remarkable performance in the tournament. Meanwhile, Kazma seeks to extend the battle for third place, aiming to force a decisive third match and maintain its hopes of podium ascent this season.

Both teams boast notable players, including Youssef Bourahma, Ahmed Al-Balushi, Abdulaziz Al-Hamidi, and American professionals Chapman, Leslie, and Love in Kazma’s roster. Al-Arabi features Hussein Al-Khabaz, Abdullah Salmeen, and Abdulrahman Al-Sohul, alongside American players Kendall and Dembicki, and Serbian player Kipkovic.
