April Ooi food review: Langford’s Korean BBQ restaurant Sik Gaek

Sik Gaek is a Korean restaurant with a cult following amongst the southern suburbs of Perth. The line before opening at the Langford eatery gave me flashbacks to the Ticketek Taylor Swift travesty I had experienced just days before. But luckily, this time we were able to grab a seat.

The main drawcard for me was the lamb skewers ($23) — they rotate on an automatic spit, and you cook them yourself over a charcoal flame. You’ve got to order at least a set of two, which leaves you with 20 skewers. I’ve never been good at maths, but even I know that’s a lot, so I would definitely come in a group to conquer their beast of a menu.
