AAP MP Sanjay Singh who walked out of Tihar jail on Wednesday announced that arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would not be resigning from his position and will continue to serve the people of the national capital.

“Arvind Kejriwal will not resign at all and will work for the two crore people of Delhi. It is said that how will one write a letter… I have come back after spending six months in jail. It is written in the jail manual that any person can write unlimited letters while in jail…If someone wants to write a government letter, then permission is required from the court,” said Sanjay Singh.

Singh after spending six months behind bars said it was not the time to celebrate but struggle hoping that other jailed party leaders will also come out soon. After his release, Singh left for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence where he met his wife Sunita Kejriwal.

While addressing the party members, Singh launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP. “You are questioning a man of corruption who left his IRS job to serve the country…BJP’s next name is not Bharatiya Janta Party but Bangaru Janta Party…” said Singh. The AAP MP added that BJP will not spare corrupt people, every corrupt person will be included (in the party).

“I feel pity for the workers of the BJP. They got ready in Assam for the corruption of Himanta Biswa Sarma. Workers were preparing for a parade of him and meanwhile, PM Modi was giving hugs to Himanta Biswa Sarma…” remarked Singh.

Singh had been lodged in the high-security prison since October 13, 2023. He came out at 8.11 pm through the gate number three.Kejriwal behind bars:
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on a petition by Kejriwal challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. “I am going to reserve judgement,” said Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma after hearing the senior counsel appearing for the AAP leader as well as the agency.

Delhi CM was arrested on March 21 by the probe agency in relation to the excise policy case. ED alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is the major beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated in the alleged liquor scam. The agency claimed that Kejriwal was directly involved in the formation of the excise policy. The case pertains to alleged irregularities and money laundering in framing and implementing the Delhi excise policy 2022, which was later scrapped.
