But now one Aussie mum has shared a step-by-step cleaning method that’s left her cook top looking new again.

Chantel Mila, from Melbourne, regularly posts cleaning, styling and DIY hacks on social media.

In a recent post to TikTok, she revealed the household ingredients needed to cut through baked-on grease and food.

“This five-step process is the best way to deep clean your stove top and make it look brand new again,” she captioned the post.

Mila started by removing and soaking the grates in hot soapy water, which she says will soften the grease.

The next step focused on the burners, which she removed and placed into a glass container.

She then poured 1/2 cup baking soda and boiling water in the container and added lemon slices.

“Leave this to soak for about an hour,” she said.

While the burners and grates soaked, the mum mixed 1 cup of baking soda, 1/3 cup of dishwashing detergent and water to make her “miracle” scrubbing paste.

“Apply this to your stove,” she said, as she used a toothbrush to scrub the cook top.

“It removes tough grease and can be used all around the home.”

She then applied the mix to the burner bases.

“The trick here is to use steel wool to cut through burnt mess,” she said.

“Wash and rinse your burners.

“Wash the softened grease off your grates.

“And reveal your sparkling stove top.”
