Brittany Bown has given an intimate insight into the tearful moment she told fiance Nic Naitanui she was pregnant, just five months after son Ezekiel was born via emergency caesarean after a 26-hour labour.
In a raw and honest column in STM, Bown shared that she cried when her pregnancy test was positive, feeling overwhelmed at the thought of having another baby so soon.
“I went downstairs to tell Nic and when he saw my tear-streaked face, he panicked, thinking I had received bad news. Tearfully, I blurted out, ‘I’ve got to tell you something — I’m pregnant again’,” she wrote.
“Thankfully, his reaction was relief; he was rather happy about the news. After some processing, a visit to the doctor, and lots of prayer, worry transformed into excitement, and both the joy and gratitude for new life took over.”
Now 26 weeks along, Bown wrote that the first sign she was expecting were dizzy spells during her daily Peloton rides, similar to those she experienced during her pregnancy with Ezekiel. Ezzy, as she calls him, will turn one the month before his sister is due.
Describing the news as a “roller-coaster of emotions” Bown shared that she had a dream of holding a baby named Abigale, before they knew they were having a girl, which brought a sense of peace.
“As we await the arrival of our daughter, we are filled with excitement, anticipation and immense gratitude,” she wrote.
