Brooks Running releases Ghost 16 shoe: The carbon neutral shoe is designed to be lightweight and comfortable

I cycle through running shoes often because I regularly spend my weekends hiking and exploring our closest suburbs.

It was actually my mother who introduced me to Brooks Running, claiming that its trainers were some of the best she had tried for her high maintenance feet.

So I dabbled in the brand some years ago by purchasing a pair of the Ghost sneakers, which are still some of the best running shoes I’ve ever owned.

Earlier this month, the brand decided to expand the best-selling range once again with the release of Ghost 16.

Engineered with new soft, nitrogen-infused DNA LOFT v3, the shoe is designed to deliver supreme, lightweight comfort.

The segmented crash pad and overall shoe design promote a smooth heel-to-toe transition during your run so you’ll never end up with soreness after hitting the pavement.

The Ghost 16 is constructed with 67 per cent recycled materials on average in the upper, and Brooks offsets carbon emissions for what can’t be reduced.

At $249.95 a pair, they’re certainly not cheap, but they’re also on par with many of the other popular athletics brands.

The shoe is available in men’s and women’s sizes, with wider width options for both.

It’s important to note the Ghost is a neutral shoe, meaning it doesn’t have built-in arch support.

If you need extra arch support, you might consider a different Brooks model such as the Adrenaline GTS.

“I’m so excited to get my hands on them,” one keen runner wrote on social media.

“I can’t wait to take my new 16s for a run,” said another.

This month, Brooks Running launches a new global brand platform called “Let’s Run There”.

It has been inspired by the belief that every run takes us to a better place — be it a feeling, a destination or a finish line.

The new approach is designed to continue Brooks’ strong connection to runners and broaden engagement to all who are active.

The evolution reflects consumers’ shifting relationships with running and a multi-dimensional view of health and wellness.
