But, what is it? Tito Mboweni cooks another disastrous dinner

Just when social media users thought they’d seen it all, Tito Mboweni shared a look at his latest culinary adventure, and this time, it’s probably his shocking yet.

The former Minister of Finance live-tweeted during another late-night cooking session. However, his followers couldn’t decipher what was on the menu…

TITO MBOWENI’S COOKING LEAVES FOLLOWERS CONFUSED

Tito Mboweni – who has a degree in economics and political science –  is known for his dare-devil dishes.

And living life on the edge is probably the best way to describe what Tito had to cook.

“Dinner is loading,” he tweeted this week. Alongside, he posted pictures of a pot full of meat – which animal no one knows – and a chopping board littered with red and green chilies.

Tito did not add his usual ingredients like onions, peppers and garlic in abundance.

The unidentified appetising dish quickly became a trending topic on social media. Many wanted to know what Tito was cooking and if he actually ate it.

@ishy_msipa: “How you are still alive is a question only God can answer.”

@AntonyNgele: “I feel sorry for your stomach.”

@freemanchari: “Chef Tito, ready to serve tetanus.”

@EldenPoes: “We need forensic experts to identify the body.”

@_officialMoss: “Your cooking gets worse daily”

COOKING IS A ‘STRESS RELIEVER’

Although literally no one – besides Tito Mboweni – is a fan of his cooking, the 65-year-old is fond of his hobby.

In 2019, he tweeted: “There is something about cooking which soothes the soul. Removes stressful things and makes one a better person. There is nothing lower class about cooking. In my zone, cooking is UPPER CLASS!”.

The former Minister of Finance also once clapped back at claims that cooking was a “woman’s job.”

When one follower told him to “find a wife” in 2020, he responded: “I don’t get it. Why is cooking associated with me getting a wife? Why do we genderise cooking? I can cook good food. Hayibo!”.

Tito has also been offered help from professional chefs like Siba Mtongana and Fikile Zungu, as well as amateur cook Somizi Mhlongo.

In 2022, he was gifted a cookbook by a friend.

He tweeted: “Apparently, my cooking needs some professional assistance.”

We’re not sure that it helped though

In 2022, Discovery Vitality claimed they were “inspired” to create a dish called “Tito’s pilchard pie,” which they offered during a cooking course.
