Chicago police are investigating a “shooting incident” that took place at Guaranteed Rate Stadium on Friday night, according to multiple reports.
On Friday, the White Sox took on the A’s, and there were no delays to play as Oakland pulled away with a 12-4 victory.
It’s unclear how many people were involved, though ABC 7 in Chicago reported the incident took place somewhere near the left-field bleachers.
According to NBC 5, the shooting occurred around 8:45 p.m., and two people were hit but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
The game ended around 9 p.m.
After the game, the team was supposed to host a 1990s-themed concert featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base and Tone Loc, but it was canceled because of what the team called “technical difficulties.”
“Attention Fans. Due to technical issues, tonight’s postgame concert has been canceled,” a message said on the Guaranteed Rate scoreboard.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Fans holding on-field passes will receive a refund to the original purchaser’s credit card.”
