Chris Wallace to Misty Copeland:Ever Made To Look More White

CNN anchor Chris Wallace asked famously cantankerous comic actor Larry David, “How do you live with yourself?” — and was compelled to ask if he was “doing a bit” during his response.

Wallace interviewed David for this week’s edition of his Max series Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace on a variety of topics, including politics, his signature cringe-com Curb Your Enthusiasm, and his persona.

In one preview clip obtained by Mediaite, Wallace asked David the existential question many people grapple with:

WALLACE: How do you live with yourself?

DAVID: How do I live with myself? It’s, again, it’s not easy. Yeah, it is not easy. Um, I don’t know, I just try and get into a routine. And so if I do the same thing, tomorrow, that I’m doing today, without of course, seeing you. I’ve got through it. And okay, do the same thing, you’ll get through that one, too. So I have to have, I have to have a very regimented life. I don’t like traveling. I don’t like going anywhere. I like, I like going to the office. [laughs] I like going to the office. I like playing golf. I like being in my house. I’m so dull and uninteresting. I really don’t enjoy being out and socializing and making small talk. I don’t know.

WALLACE: Is it – is it some bit that you’re doing for me?

DAVID: No, it’s not a bit. It’s not a bit. It’s not a bit ask anybody who knows me.

WALLACE: So why are you laughing?

DAVID: You know what, I wish it was a bit. I wish it was. I long to be somebody else. I wish I could enjoy things that most people enjoy. But I can’t, yeah.

Wallace also asked David if this final season of Curb is really the end:

WALLACE: You announced in December that this is not the season finale, but the series finale. This is the end of Curb. How come?

DAVID: Ahh I don’t know.

WALLACE: That’s it?

DAVID: Ahh I don’t know. It was it was it was time. 12 seasons, we’ve been doing it for 24 years. I mean, it’s a long time. And I don’t think we really want to see an old guy on television until his 80’s I mean, how long…?

WALLACE: It’s too late. I already have been seeing an old guy on television.

DAVID: Exactly how long can you watch it? Yeah.

WALLACE: What are you going to do with yourself?

DAVID: I’ll find some stuff.

WALLACE: In entertainment or are you going to just play golf?

DAVID: Oh, no, no, no, no, I’ll do something. Yeah.

WALLACE: But Curb? And this is final. This is it.

DAVID: This is it Chris. This is it. I’m making a Shermanesque statement.

WALLACE: If nominated, you will…

DAVID: If nominated I will not run. If elected I will not serve.
