The college football odds, lines and totals are posted each Sunday in Las Vegas ahead of the upcoming weeks games. Circa Sports is the first to post lines at 11 a.m. local Pacific time, and pro bettors take aim and there is an immediate adjustment in the betting lines within the opening hour of the sportsbook taking bets at the counter and online.
Some of the leading online sportsbooks post their opening numbers and odds also on Sunday, and FanDuel sportsbook also posts early betting lines on the key games and Top 25, with the AP Top 25 poll adjusting its rankings every Monday.
We’ve already seen some significant line moves of 2-points or greater from the opening numbers on many games, and I’ve noted them below.
Colorado Buffaloes Big Upset
Following Colorado’s upset at TCU 45-42 as a 21-point underdog in Week 1, there was significan’t (over) reaction to the Buffaloes big win. The stampede in Boulder and new Coach Prime Deion Sander’s impact on the program is in full hype mode with the massive media now following the Buffs home opener in Week 2 vs Nebraska. FanDuel Sportsbook opened Nebraska as a -2.5 point favorite within an hour of Colorado’s win over TCU. Money immediately came in on Colorado taking the line down to Nebraska -1.5.
Circa Sports opened Colorado as a -5 point favorite Sunday morning and it was immediately bet down to Colorado -2. FanDuel Sportsbook currently has Colorado -1.5 and the over/under at 58.5 total points.

While Nebraska at Colorado game will take significant betting action for their 12 p.m. ET kickoff on FOX Sat., Sept. 9, it’s the No. 11 Texas at No. 4 Alabama game that is the prime time 7 p.m. ET headliner with the Crimson Tide opening as a -7 point favorite. But the game total has the sharpest early action and move from 52.5 to 56.5 points.
Alabama edged Texas last season 20-19 on a last second field goal to escape in Austin. Alabama was ranked No. 5 at the time and a 21-point favorite.

Week 2 of the 2023 college football season also means fans in the Bluegrass state will be able to bet on sports. Kentucky became the 37th state to legalize sports betting in the United States. Kentucky sports betting will officially launch on September 7 (retail) with mobile sports betting starting a few weeks later on September 28.
The Kentucky Wildcats blew out Ball State 44-14 in their opening game as a 25-point favorite. Kentucky hosts Eastern Kentucky on Sat., Sept. 9 with a 12 p.m. ET kickoff from Kroger Field in Lexington. No betting line is posted yet, but plenty of interest in the inter-state FBS vs FCS clash when the leading online sportsbooks set the line and take action for the first time on Kentucky football and the NFL.
