A shakeup in the AP Top 25 and specifically the top 10 this week after Texas topped Alabama 34-24 last week as a 7-point underdog. The Longhorns move up to No. 4 and the Crimson Tide fell to No. 10 following last week’s results with those two teams nearly swapping spots from the Week 2 AP Poll.
Texas is ranked in the top 5 for the first time since 2010. The Longhorns also moved up sharply in the national championship odds, just as Florida State did in Week 1 following their blowout win over LSU. Texas and Florida State are currently +1000 (10/1) to win the national championship just behind Michigan (+460) and Georgia (+230).
Colorado is 2-0 and moved up again to No. 18 this week . Ole Miss is up to No. 17 and the Rebels were a popular pick last week with more money supporting them at the leading online sportsbooks in a 37-20 road win over previously ranked Tulane. Washington State improved to 2-0 with a home upset of Wisconsin. The Cougars moved into the Top 25 at No. 23 after receiving just one vote last week. The Badgers fell out of the Top 25. Also moving back in are No. 24 UCLA and No. 25 Iowa.
Meanwhile Clemson, who started the season in the top 10, has fallen out of the Top 25. Texas A&M also fell out of the Top 25 and the Aggies didn’t even receive any votes this week after getting hammered by the Miami Hurricanes last Saturday, 48-33.
Pac 12 Rise and SEC Fall
The Pac 12 has eight teams in this week’s AP Top 25, as the conference is making an early statement for their strength in its final season before realignment. The SEC is just 1-4 vs. ACC teams this season and the conference is answering questions about being more vulnerable. SEC teams are also just 3-6 against Power Five teams this season with highly-ranked Alabama and LSU along with Texas A&M all losing as favorites.

Key Games and Line Moves
Suprisingly, there are no Top 25 matchups between ranked teams this week. But some key games include:

There has been some significant over/under total moves this week including in the South Carolina at Georgia game with the total opening at 47 and up sharply to 54.5. The LSU at Mississippi State total is also up 5-point to 54.5.
The Tennessee at Florida contest will have the ESPN GameDay crew in Gainsville for a prime-time SEC showdown. That’s followed by the late night ESPN game with the talk of college football Colorado Buffaloes hosting state rival Colorado State.

Before you watch and wager on Tennessee to win and repeat last year’s 38-33 win over Florida, know that Tennessee is 0-9 playing in ‘The Swamp’ since their last win in Gainsville in 2003. It’s the first true road game for Volunteers QB Joe Milton, who has just two passing plays over 20 yards in two games, including vs a FCS team. Tennessee has averaged 287 yards rushing and 212 passing through its first two games.
Florida struggled mightily running the ball at Utah in Week 1 with just 13 net rushing yards. Now they run up against a Tennessee defense that has 25 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in two games this season. Gators starting center Kingsley Eguakun returns from a leg injury after sitting out Florida’s first two games. Florida transfer QB Graham Mertz passed forr 333 in a loss at Utah, and 193 yards last week before being pulled through three quarters of a 49-7 win over FCS McNeese State.
“It’s Eastern Division and it’s a top-25 opponent,” Florida coach Billy Napier said during Wednesday’s press conference. “I believe if you’re an elite competitor, you live for opportunities like these.”
