Copied? Mmusi Maimane compares new ANC t-shirt to AMG logo

The Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane took to X (the social media platform previously known as Twitter) and accused the African National Congress (ANC) of allegedly having “stolen” the design of one of their new t-shits from the Mercedes Benz AMG logo.

On 14 March on their Instagram feed, the ANC revealed one of their latest t-shirts. Mmusi Maimane has since decided to re-post the photo of the t-shirt on his timeslines. He then dragged the ANC for having allegedly taken their design inspiration from the AMG logo.

“Aren’t you complaining about copyright infringement AMG, sorry I meant  @MYANC? 😂😂😂,” the BOSA leader sarcastically captioned.

After posting the ANC t-shirt on his timesline, social media users warned Maimane, advising him to leave the ANC alone — adding that he should rather focus on campaigning for his new party.

ELECTION TIME!

In February, the SA Gov website reported that President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the 2024 general elections will be held on 29 May 2024. “I call on all South Africans to exercise their democratic right to vote and for those who will be campaigning to do so peacefully, within the full observance of the law,” Ramaphosa was quoted as saying.

According to IOL, Maimane has confirmed that his party will appear on all ballots on Election Day. This reportedly came as he announced how many signatures BOSA submitted to the IEC.

“We can announce [that] we have received over 140,000 signature submissions, more than double what is required by law,” Maimane was quoted as saying.

BOSA is one of the newly registered political parties that had to meet the requirements of the new electoral laws, TshisaLIVE reported.  Speaking of its latest achievement, Maimane reportedly said that he is “grateful to the people of South Africa” for giving his party the “mandate”.

He is said to have further promised that BOSA “will endeavour to run a clean and hopeful campaign to inspire millions of people who are tired of the status quo and want real change.”

“Never an original idea,” @mmm_thinking said.

“It reflects the cars they drive, by stealing from the public,” @sbo_nelou said.

“🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,” @pulethamaga reacted.

“They are promoting the brands of vehicles they will be driving with the money they steal from their supporters,” @MarleneRoux001 replied.

“Instead of campaigning for your party, you are busy with ANC matters. Meanwhile, people on the ground don’t even know your party 🙆🤷,” @SMapholoba commented.
