Daily Show’s Dulcé Sloan and Josh Johnson broke out into heavy laughter during a skit mocking Donald Trump’s hush money trial after it was acknowledged the former president “might finally face justice.”
On Wednesday’s Daily Show, Sloan interviewed comedian Jordan, who was playing a potential mock juror in Trump’s trial.
Jordan joked he was trying to infiltrate the jury to get a bribe.
“For $400, you walk free. For $450, I’ll put Stormy Daniels in jail. I don’t even know if I can do that, but I’m going to try,” he joked at one point in a direct message to the former president.
Trump is facing more than 30 counts related to a hush money payment made to adult film actress Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. Trump has denied any wrongdoing including falsifying business records, as well as the affair.
“So you don’t care about this trial, you just want to be on the jury for selfish reasons?” Sloan asked Jordan.
“Yeah, obviously. This thing’s a cash cow. All these jurors are going to get book deals, daytime TV appearances. At least one of them is going to be on The Masked Singer. And I think I have what it takes to be a sexy wombat,” Jordan said.
He described the trial as an opportunity at indefinite employment amid inflation concerns.
“It’s not easy money. Being part of a high-profile trial is exhausting,” Sloan said.
“Not this one. I can nap whenever Trump is napping. I’ll dip my head when he dips his head. I’ll bop up when he bops up. As long as we snore in rhythm, nobody will notice,” Johnson said.
“Josh, be serious! The leading presidential candidate is on trial. Isn’t there a chance that he might finally face justice?” Sloan said.
After a beat, the two broke into laughter over the potential of Trump facing “justice.”
“I said a rich white man is going to face justice. Did you hear what I said!?” Sloan said through laughter.
