Delivery truck driver arrested over death of passenger in Adelaide Hills crash

A delivery truck driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving over a fatal crash in the Adelaide Hills on Saturday morning.

The truck hit a barrier and then a tree on Torrens Hill Road in Millbrook about 8.30am.

Witnesses said the road was wet and fog impacted visibility at the time of the crash.

The passenger side of the truck bore the brunt of the impact.

A group of cyclists stopped to perform CPR on the 44-year-old passenger.

The Klemzig man died at the scene.

The 46-year-old driver was taken to Modbury Hospital for treatment.

The Blair Athol man was released from the hospital about 2pm and arrested by Major Crash Officers.

He has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and granted bail. His licence has also been taken away.

He is due to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court in August.
