Denver street sweeping season begins Tuesday. Violators will risk tickets of $50 if they park on the wrong side of streets scheduled for sweeping on specific days now through November.
The city’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure advises drivers to check the red-and-white parking signs posted on curbsides around town to make sure they are not violating parking restrictions, including street sweeping schedules.
The city also offers an online search tool to check when street sweeping will occur based on address. That can be found at denvergov.org/Online-Services-Hub/Street-Sweeping-Schedules.
Street sweeping clears dirt and debris that accumulates on roadways to prevent more of it from contaminating the air and water. The practice also lessens the chance that storm sewer inlets will become clogged increasing the risk of flooding, according to the city.
