American media personality Doja Cat may be known for her catchy music, but the singer and rapper has also made a name for herself with her futuristic fashion sense. However, every now and again, the Paint The Town Red hitmaker pushes the boundaries in what some may call a “fashion faux pas” – like her recent outfit where she was seen wearing a white bed sheet.
DOJA CAT ROLLS OUT OF BED IN BED SHEET AND HIGH HEELS
The musician – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – appears to have literally rolled out of bed WITH her sheet, wore a black thong and heels and went about her day.
According to The Daily Mail, the Grammy Award-winning singer was on a shopping trip with fashion designer Guram Gvasalia in New York City on Sunday afternoon.
When they were done picking out outfits, Doja Cat donned a zip-up leather dress while heading to the Monse Maison Pre-Met Cocktail Celebration. During the celebration, her dress was unzipped, exposing her legs, thighs and underwear. The 28-year-old musician also wore a pair of transparent high-heeled shoes and a set of sheer leggings to the event.
PLASTIC WRAP DRESS
A day before her controversial bed sheet fashion statement, Doja Cat had turned heads with her plastic wrap dress.
As per Ace Showbiz, the rapper wore her sheer plastic wrap bandeau, tight mini skirt and backless high heels with plastic straps in New York City. She again stepped out with Gvasalia as they held hands.
HANDLING TROLLS ON THE INTERNET
With Doja Cat’s bold fashion aesthetic comes a lot of criticism and trolling on social media.
In an interview with Variety in February 2023, the Say So hitmaker revealed that she gets a kick out of hitting back at trolls.
“A lot of people think I’m not good at handling trolls because I respond to them. But that’s the art of it: I love to go to f**king war with trolls. That’s just what I’ve grown up with; I’ve been on the internet for 1 000 f**king years and it’s just part of me: that I need to respond.
“People think, ‘Oh, if you’re defending yourself, you’re weak.’ But I always rest on ‘Everyone can suck my d*ck from the back.’
“If somebody wants to fight me on the internet I will gladly join in, balls to the wall. It’s fun for me. I’m a very messy b**ch,” she told the publication.
