Drew Barrymore Crowns Kamala Harris ‘Momala’ in Cringe Clip

Critics are piling on Drew Barrymore over a clip from her talk show in which she emotionally tells Vice President Kamala Harris that the country needs her to be “Momala.”

“I keep thinking in my head that we all need a mom. I’ve been thinking that we really all need a tremendous hug in the world right now,” Barrymore told Harris as her voice trembled during their chat. “But in our country, we need you to be Momala of the country.”

Barrymore reached out and grabbed the vice president’s hand as the audience clapped.

“I know, I know,” Harris said.

The clip was quickly labeled “uncomfortable” on social media, and a number of conservative pundits made it clear they are not in need of a “Momala.”

“A clip that is both extremely uncomfortable and hilarious at the same time,” Washington Post’s John Hudson wrote on X, formerly Twitter, when sharing the clip from Barrymore’s show.

“No, we don’t need her to be Momala… Please, no,” actor Dean Cain wrote.

“I hate everything about this clip,” Megyn Kelly said on her SiriusXM radio show in reaction.

“Who exactly is in a cult? These people aren’t looking for a leader they’re looking for surrogate parents,” Fox News anchor Will Cain wrote, also referencing Howard Stern referring to President Joe Biden as the “father” of the country during their recent interview on SiriusXM.

During the Monday appearance by Harris, Barrymore told the vice president “we all need a protestor” after nicknaming her “Momala.”

Harris told Barrymore that voters don’t want leaders who “beat” others down, but rather more positive role models.

“The true measure of your strength is who you lift up,” Harris said, “and if you ever want to measure, if you want some objective indication of your individual power, see what you can do to help other people, people who are in need.”
