DU UG Merit List: Delhi University to release first undergraduate merit allocation list today

NEW DELHI: Delhi University is all set to release the first undergraduate merit allocation list today i.e., Tuesday, 1st August 2023. This list will determine the allocation of seats to students based on their positions in the merit list. Additionally, St. Stephen’s College has announced that the interviews for Christian minority students will commence on August 1.

To calculate the merit scores, the university will consider the normalised CUET scores provided by the National Testing Agency. Once the allocation list is declared, candidates must log in to their Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) dashboard to accept the allocated seat, if offered. The deadline for accepting the seat is 5 pm on August 4.
In case a candidate is offered multiple seats in a particular round, they must accept and take admission in only one allocated seat. Failure to take any action will be considered as non-acceptance, leading to the forfeiture of the provisionally allocated seat. Subsequently, the candidate will no longer be eligible to participate in subsequent rounds of CSAS(UG)-2023.

Once a candidate accepts the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify their eligibility and documents uploaded online. The verification process must be completed by August 5. The last date for fee payment is August 6 (5 pm).

Failure to pay the admission fee within the stipulated time will be considered as the cancellation of the provisionally allocated seat. Consequently, the allocated seat will be forfeited, and the candidate will not be considered for any subsequent allocation rounds in the current year. In case an application is rejected during the online verification, the college will provide a reason for the rejection. Additionally, if a college raises any queries during the online approval process, the candidate must respond online through the dashboard within the given time frame.
After the fee payment, students have the option to choose between “upgrade” and “freeze” options. If the candidate is satisfied with the allocated seat, they can “freeze” their admissions and will not be considered for subsequent allocations.
On the other hand, an admitted candidate can select the “upgrade” option, allowing them to upgrade to a higher preference submitted earlier. This option also allows the candidate to reorder programme and college combinations. The university is scheduled to release the second merit list on August 10.
