Euphonik shades Ramaphosa’s mixing skills?

DJ Euphonik has poked fun at a viral clip of President Cyril Ramaphosa spinning the decks during his election campaign.

Over the last few weeks, Cyril and many ANC colleagues have been pulling out all the stops to engage with the public and canvas votes, including washing clothes and sniffing snuff (tobacco).

EUPHONIK TEASES RAMAPHOSA OVER DJ SKILLS

In the clip, President Cyril Ramaphosa stopped over at Rands Lifestyle in Khayelitsha. Taking a break from election campaigning, the 71-year-old jokingly had a go at being a DJ of the Cape Town hot spot.

A clip of Ramaphosa mixing a song called “Vote ANC” was tweeted by ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula. He captioned the tweet: “UYABUYA Vol. 2 (Produced by DJ Ramza). Dropping 29 May 2024 at your local voting station”

Also posting the clip was the Head of Digital Communications in the Presidency, Athi Geleba, who is also DJ Shimza’s girlfriend.

She tweeted: “The DJ Ramzin residency launches in CPT this weekend. DM for bookings”.

Fellow DJ Euphonik also retweeted the clip, chiming in: “In this economy, everyone is a DJ. Those that haven’t started are still in denial.”

X users were also amused at Ramaphosa’s music-mixing skills.

@Mbongen98677549: “DJ PHALA PHALA”

@DCMarobela1: “I wish elections could be every year.”

@Justice4ZW: “The soundtrack to corruption and looting.”

MALEMA AND MAIMANE SPIN THE DECKS TOO

President Ramaphosa is not the only politician who has tried their hand at DJing.

Build ONe South Africa’s Mmusi Maimane also had the crowd on their feet at the BOSA Ya Busa Bash in Soweto in March.

And, of course, the EFF’s Julius Malema also makes the list as an amateur DJ.

In 2022, the controversial politician was seen spinning the decks and downing shots in Ibiza at the wedding of his pal Adriano Mazzotti’s daughter, Alexa.

Also at the destination wedding – which included parties on the picturesque Experimental Beach –  were the Major League DJ twins, Black Coffee and his son Esona and the husband of Tamaryn Green, Ze Nxumalo. Fellow EFF member Vuyani Pambo also scored himself an invite to the exclusive celebration.

Malema has also DJ’ed at Konka nightclub and Max’s Lifestyle. He’s also friends with professional DJs like Black Coffee, Oskido, Maphorisa, and Kabza de Small.
