Federal Budget 2024: Renewed pressure on need for measures to combat inflation after State spending

The Federal Government is under renewed pressure to keep a lid on spending in Tuesday’s Budget after large spending commitments in WA and Victoria sparked concern about the nation’s battle against persistent inflation.

Despite the State spending, Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Friday said he was “not especially” worried it would make his task to combat inflation more difficult.
