Five homes to buy in UK areas seeing a big boost in properties put up for sale

Homes in popular countryside and coastal locations have been in short supply in recent years but the tide is now turning, new data suggests.

Zoopla said the supply of homes for sale on its website has increased by 20 per cent in the past year, meaning buyers are enjoying the highest level of spring-time choice of homes in five years.

And specific areas are seeing a bumper rise in supply, with the South West leading the way, as agents report 2.5 times as many homes for sale compared to a year ago.

The property website identified other supply hotspots, including Cornwall, Devon, Wales, and the East Midlands.

Sam Turner, of Cornwall estate agent Kivells, said: ‘The spring market has definitely sprung, as we are seeing increased levels of activity across the county.

‘There has been a large increase in new properties coming to the market which is giving buyers more choice.

‘This is also assisting the moving process for our vendors as they have more to choose from on their onward purchases.’
