But the lights, he told troopers, were never activated.

During the investigation, troopers spoke to a male witness who said he was heading north on I-75 when a red GMC Sierra came up from behind and started flashing red and blue lights.

The witness told troopers he believed the red truck may have been an undercover law enforcement vehicle, describing how the driver of the truck motioned for him to pull over before speeding off.

When the trooper conducted a search on Cesario’s pickup truck, red and blue lights were found.

When plugged into two electrical sockets in the vehicle, the lights turned on.

The trooper noted that both electrical sockets, which are commonly used for push-in cigarette lighters, already had their covers removed before conducting the test on the lights.
