Former NFL CB Richard Sherman arrested for suspicion of DUI

Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to Washington State Patrol. Sherman was booked at 4:51 a.m. PT Saturday, according to King County arrest records.

No other details were available, trooper Rick Johnson, a Washington State Patrol spokesperson, said. A request for comment to the King County Prosecutor’s Office about whether charges would be filed was not immediately returned.

Sherman was previously charged with DUI and four other misdemeanors in July 2021. He pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor offenses in May 2022 as part of an agreement to resolve the charges.

Sherman, 35, spent 11 seasons in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro, Sherman was most known for his seven-year stint with Seattle, where he won a Super Bowl in 2013. He finished his career with Tampa Bay in 2021.

More recently, Sherman has worked as an analyst on Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” broadcast for the past two seasons.
