Formula One (F1) returns to Las Vegas this week for the first time in more than 40 years. The buildup to the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix has been immense, and the 3.8-mile circuit is ready for 20 of the world’s best drivers to speed down the Las Vegas Strip. Betting odds on the Las Vegas Grand Prix includes outright win bets, which heavily favor Max Verstappen (-290). But F1 prop bets are gaining traction like the speed of the race cars that will exceed 200 mph down Las Vegas Boulevard in front of F1 fans and the grandstands lining the Strip.
“We are forecasting that this race weekend in Las Vegas is easily going to shatter every company record for the sport,” BetMGM’s chief revenue officer Matt Prevost said. “While popularity for automotive sports in the U.S. continues to grow, we believe the activity we are seeing so far around this Las Vegas race is going to take it to a whole new level.”
Additionally, from Monday to Tuesday, BetMGM reports that it has seen seen a 32% increase in number of bets placed on the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

F1 officials expect about 100,000 fans to fill the grandstands and suite areas stationed around the course each night. You can bet they’ll be watching and wagering more as the opening event nears Friday night under the Las Vegas lights and famed Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas Grand Prix Win Simulations: Banking on Recent Speed
The unfamiliar street circuit may level the playing field for other racers, and Lando Norris won his fifth podium in six races with a second-place finish at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix last weekend. He’s finished second in four of his last six races.
Lewis Hamilton was near the top of the racing world until Verstappen started setting records last year. Hamilton hasn’t won a race since 2021, but finished 2nd in the Mexico City Grand Prix late last month.
Sergio Perez has a best finish of 5th (3x) in his last eight starts, while Carlos Sainz won the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix in September and finished 3rd in the Lenovo United States Grand Prix last month.

The creation of the Las Vegas Grand Prix F1 event has been the culmination of five years of detailed planning. It has not all gone smoothly, especially as the event nears with hundreds of cancellations and F1 congestion throttling the Las Vegas Strip, restaurants, and hotel/casino workers.
But the show goes on in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
“The Strip was the selling point. A Las Vegas Grand Prix without that iconic backdrop wouldn’t have made sense and every major casino and hotel owner could see that,” says Craig Wilson, Head of Vehicle Performance at Formula 1, who worked closely with track designers Tilke to create the route.

The opening ceremonies begin Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. local Pacific time. Temperatures are projected to be near 70 degrees and dipping to the low 50’s in the evenings Wednesday-Saturday. The chance or rain and precipitation has dipped to below 20% during the racing event.
