Frantic 911 call after Alex Collins’ fatal motorcycle crash

The 911 call from the motorcycle crash that killed former NFL running back Alex Collins reveals an emotional scene in the moments following the collision.

TMZ obtained audio of the 911 call, which was placed on Sunday following the crash at 10:20 p.m. in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.

The woman on the phone was driving the SUV that collided with Collins’ motorcycle.

During the call, which took place three minutes after the crash, the driver said she was hit from behind and called herself “hysterical” while frantically trying to locate Collins.

She told the 911 dispatcher, “I tried to look to see where landed and I can’t find him … the person who was on the motorcycle.”

Later in the call, the driver is told Collins was in her SUV.

“He’s in there?” she asked.

“Yeah open the door,” a voice screamed back.

Sports radio host Andy Slater obtained a copy of the police report, which detailed how Collins, on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on West Oakland Park Boulevard and struck a woman driving westbound, in a 2002 Chevy, attempting to make a left turn.

“According to investigators, at some point, the Chevrolet driver proceeded to turn left to travel south onto Northwest 33rd Avenue,” the report said. “As the car crossed the eastbound lanes, the motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the SUV.

“The impact caused the motorcyclist to enter the rear passenger side window of the Chevrolet and come to a final rest inside the car. The collision also caused the Chevrolet to rotate clockwise before finally resting.”

The Ravens originally announced the tragic news in a statement Monday evening.

“With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Alex Collins,” the team said.

“Absolutely heartbroken,” the Seahawks tweeted. “Prayers are with the Collins family.”
