The number of households at risk of mortgage stress has fallen to its lowest level this year as the Reserve Bank of Australia held interest rates steady and rising incomes eased financial pressures, according to a fresh survey.
New research from Roy Morgan on Tuesday revealed 1.53 million mortgage holders were “at risk” of mortgage stress in the three months to March. While the number was 98,000 lower than in February, it was similar to levels recorded in December.
