Of all the winter items dominating at the moment, I think my favourite has to one of the most humble I’ve spotted for a few years now. Rid of flashy colours or extravagant design, this season all I’m pining for is a simple (you could argue “boring”) grey cardigan.
2024’s new-season grey cardigans vary from light-wash tones to deep, dark greys, but most I’ve seen feature a classic crew-neck cut and fall to the top of the hip for a fresh and modern finish. What surprised me most was just how many cardigans I found like this when I started looking, and all the best styles seemed to come from the high street. From H&M to Arket, Zara to & Other Stories, every affordable brand has its own version—just choose your favourite.
While I’m yet to learn the origin of hers, I did spot Hailey Bieber styling the simple wardrobe staple at a basketball game in L.A., just as I was contemplating buying one for myself. A sign? Wearing hers with light wash jeans, a grey baseball cap and black kitten heels. Completing her casual outfit, the model styled a leather trench coat over her outfit, matching with best friend, Kendall Jenner.
