Frozen yoghurt sensation Yo-Chi is expanding with three more Perth locations in Fremantle, Highgate and Mandurah

Perth’s insatiable appetite for frozen yoghurt sensation Yo-Chi has pushed the brand to expand, with three additional stores opening in the coming months.

Following the success of its Karrinyup, Leederville and Victoria Park stores — which often boast lines out the door — the fro-yo vendor is hoping to capitalise on the demand for its tasty cold treats.

Fremantle, Highgate and Mandurah are set to welcome stores in March and April, continuing the impressive growth of the brand which plans to have more than 10 Perth venues by the end of 2024.

Such is their recent growth, the business doubled in size from 2022 to 2023.

Kick-starting Melbourne’s frozen yoghurt scene in 2012, Yo-Chi has been able to expand nationwide due to the welcoming environments and snack alternatives it offers.

“We’ve created spaces where everyone is welcome — from young families to teens, to couples on dates,” Chief Operating Officer Brooke Rodgers said.

“For the twenty-somethings, Yo-Chi has become a great social alternative to heading to the pub — people don’t always want to drink when they go out and equally they don’t always want a full restaurant experience when catching up with friends,” she continued.

For the uninitiated, stores offer premium frozen yoghurt with a wide range of toppings and seasonal flavours served via a buffet-style bar — including Biscoff, vegan cookie dough and fresh fruit.

If “Yo” is yoghurt, then “Chi” refers to energy, or more specifically the positive energy the brand hopes to release into the world.

Although a national success, it’s the Karrinyup store which “smashed opening weekend records” in October 2023 and encouraged Yo-Chi to re-invest in WA so quickly.

“We have no plans to slow down any time soon,” Rodgers suggested, hoping to take the brand’s national tally to 40 by the year’s end.

With Rodgers admitting Perth’s hunger for new stores far exceeds any other city, fans are encouraged to keep an eye on their socials for exact dates and openings.

But one thing’s for sure — the lines will be out the door.
