Many fans are celebrating Larry David and Curb Your Enthusiasm now that the HBO comedy, which premiered in 2000, has ended after 12 seasons, but Geraldo Rivera made it clear on Monday that he is not among those fans.

In a lengthy post on X, formerly Twitter, the former Fox News host accused David of being a “self-righteous, snobby, self-loathing, narcissistic ass” — just like the version of himself he played in the popular series.

“After 12 seasons, many viewers lament the passing of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Larry David’s sour, pseudo bio-series. I’m not a fan, because Larry truly is the self-righteous, snobby, self-loathing, narcissistic ass he portrays,” Rivera wrote.

The reporter’s comments followed the very last episode of the critically acclaimed series airing. The series finale featured cable news hosts in cameos, including NewsNation’s Dan Abrams — the founder of Mediaite.

Rivera based his assessment of David on an afternoon birthday party held in Martha Vineyard for attorney Alan Dershowitz.

The longtime reporter then recalled David tried to avoid him in theatrical ways when he tried to approach him.

“I spotted Larry in the crowd and walked toward him. Instead of making at least nominal polite contact, Larry ostentatiously avoided even looking in my direction. He actually scurried about in theatrical panic, ducking behind other guests Groucho Marx-style as he made sure to keep a safe distance,” he wrote.

Rivera said Dershowitz informed him David did not want to talk to him because he worked for Fox News at the time.

“Larry, who I’ve never met, apparently was taking his cue from the famous Fox-hater renting the big place next door,” he wrote. “Visible through the bushes separating the properties, President Barack Obama refused to make the two minute walk over to Dersh’s place for the same reason, Fear of Fox.”

Rivera accused David of not having to act at all on his show in order to play the angry curmudgeon named Larry David.

“Now, every time I see Larry being rude, crude and intolerant on television, I say that’s him, that really is Larry David, and he’s not acting,” he wrote.
