There was one common thread that wove together the showgoers at the spring/summer 2024 Fashion Week shows in New York, London and Milan. Of course, they shared a lot of predictable traits; a love for mary janes, leather coats and all things tailoring, but an unexpected commonality that we saw emerge across the fashion capitals was a penchant for all things grey.
In terms of neutral shades, beige has always been a go-to for its warm undertone and array of styling potential, but this year, the fashion set is shaking it up and opting for a cooler shade that offers a different potential to outfit builds. Welcoming cool-toned shades of grey and greige into into their wardrobes in a number of ways, there’s one particular item that we saw rise above the rest in popularity amongst the fashion set at the show, and that’s the grey trench coat.
