Hermès billionaire, Puech to reportedly bless his gardener

Hermès handbag boss Nicolas Puech is said to be adopting his 51-year-old gardener so that he can leave him with half of his £9billion (an estimated R201 billion) fortune, Daily Mail reported.

Nicolas Puech, the 80-year-old billionaire has reportedly made the extraordinary decision to bless his long-time gardener and handyman with a substantial portion of his vast wealth, the publication reported. According to the Hindustan Times, the billionaire scion of the renowned luxury design house Hermès is said to have already given his property in Morocco and a villa in Switzerland which is worth $6 million (an estimated R110 million) to his gardener.

Hermès is a French luxury brand known for manufacturing its high-end fashion, leather goods, and accessories. It was established in 1837 by Thierry Hermès and over the years, the company manufactured luxury handbags including the iconic Birkin and Kelly handbag. According to the Luxity website, the Ginza Tanaka crafted Hermès Birkin is said to be one of the most expensive Birkin bags and is priced at R25 million.

Puech is the fifth-generation heir of Thierry Hermes and is said to have up to 5.7 per cent ownership of the brand, the publication reported. Understandably, his unorthodox move for him to pass on his immense wealth and real-estate properties to his help has reportedly sparked intense speculation. However, the billionaire is said to be unmarried and without children.
