SHOCKING footage from inside a Scots holiday park has revealed “rat-infested” kitchens ahead of the Easter holidays.
Craig Tara Holiday Park have admitted they had “fell short of their usual standards” after the video showing animal poo and ripped food boxes emerged online days before the school break.
The stomach-churning video has emerged just days before hundreds of families flock to the popular leisure park for the holidays.
A clip captured on Tuesday at the site, on the outskirts of Ayr, showed piles of brown rodent droppings in the Chopstix kitchen unit, a popular outlet that forms part of the resort’s food court.
The video also showed bite marks across the edges of cardboard boxes storing dry noodles, which appear to have been chomped on by vermin.
A whistleblower told the Scottish Sun: “This latest Health and Safety matter cannot be ignored.
“The park is going to be at capacity this Easter weekend with holidaymakers and owners.
“The video shows food supplies for their Chopstix takeaway in a rat-infested storage unit.
“This is a serious health matter.
“People’s health could be endangered by eating food that is being stored in disgusting conditions.”
It comes as further images surfaced from the takeaway said to be taken last season by ex-employees of the Haven caravan park.
The second whistleblower said it was due to under-staffing saying it was “physically impossible to maintain the back shop.”
Shocking images showed rubbish piled up outside of the food court including cardboard and overflowing black bin bags with litter scattered across the back bin area.
Filthy cooking units covered in grease and dirty grills are also seen in the photos.
Food waste and dirty sinks are also photographed with old food and grease under the Bain Marie where food is displayed to customers.
The member of staff added they were horrified by the practices and said staff had raised concerns with management on several occasions but were repeatedly ignored.
A spokesperson for Haven Holidays, which runs the park, have admitted they “fell short” following an investigation.
They said: “We maintain stringent hygiene protocols at our parks and regret that on this occasion we fell short of our usual high standards.
“After the issues were identified, the affected areas underwent a deep clean as well as a comprehensive renovation to prevent this from happening again.”

Haven added they have installed new flooring, ceiling and equipment prior to opening this season.
They also said they have comprehensive food safety management system in place, which includes team training, regular checks of all areas to ensure required standards are maintained.
