House That! West Coast Eagles AFLW defender Evangeline Gooch puts Hammond Park property up for sale

If there is one thing a footballer likes as much as a Sherrin, it is property, and defender Evangeline Gooch is proving she is true to her kind.

Gooch — who plays for the West Coast’s AFLW team — is selling the Hammond Park home she bought more than three-and-a-half years ago.

This means the 27-year-old first stepped on the property ladder at the enviable age of only 23 — which is a dozen years before the average 35-year-old first-home buyer in WA.

The border closures at the time may have contributed to her sensible purchase, given she did not have the option to spend her money on Contiki tours of Europe!

But regardless of the reason behind her purchase, it will likely lead to some decent profit after the recent housing boom.

She paid about $235,000 for the land and an unknown amount for the construction of the home.

Her sensible investments are just one way Gooch is proving a positive role model, with the hardworking defender also working as a firefighter.

Her Raphanus Way home is likely to win some fans for its four bedrooms, two bathrooms, gourmet kitchen and north-facing backyard.

It is selling through Jane Duffield of Acton Belle.
