International Women’S Day: International Women’s Day 2024: Here are 5 scholarships for girl students

International Women’s Day (IWD), observed on March 8 each year, is a day to recognise and celebrate women’s accomplishments in a variety of fields, as well as to raise awareness of ongoing issues such as discrimination and inequality. It is a rallying cry for accelerating gender equality through collective action and global solidarity, with the ultimate goal of empowering women and creating a world where they have equal rights and opportunities for success.
Schools and colleges celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) in various ways to educate, inspire, and empower students and the wider community.
Creative activities like essay writing or art competitions allow students to express their understanding and perspectives. Celebratory assemblies featuring speeches, performances, or presentations provide a space for acknowledging women’s achievements.
This year also sees the introduction of various scholarships exclusively for women or girl-students. Some of these are offered by large corporations such as Amazon’s Future Engineer Scholarship; while some are offered by the government as well.
