Internet tracks down British chef who abandoned American wife and young children while working throughout US

Hell hath no fury like women on social media scorned.

An American woman’s Facebook plea to track down her missing husband has gone viral for the brazen manner in which the British father “ghosted” his young family.

Ashley McGuire, a Massachusetts mother of two, claimed her husband abandoned her and their infant children a year ago when the responsibilities and “lifestyle” of fatherhood became too much.

“I’m really about to test the power of Facebook with this one…”, she posted to the platform.

“This is my husband, ***. He loves to be the centre of attention but I’m not sure how much he’s going to like this.

“Last year, when I was pregnant with our youngest baby he decided being a husband and a dad wasn’t the lifestyle he wanted anymore and he ghosted, like gone without a trace. He has one baby he hasn’t seen in over a year, and one he’s never met.

“He’s moved somewhere out of state and changed his phone number.”

Keen to officially end her marriage and the horrid “chapter” marking it, Mrs McGuire detailed her plight.

“Divorcing someone who’s completely unreachable is really tough and drawn out, so I’m trying to track him down to get his signature on a few papers so I can finally close this chapter and move on with my life,” she wrote.

Offering details on his profession and personality — along with revealing images — Mrs McGuire was desperate to locate the British chef in a last ditch effort to find closure.

“I’ve heard he’s going by “****” now. He’s British and charming AF. He’s a chef and probably working in the hospitality industry somewhere,” she continued.

“He’s probably never mentioned having a wife or kids back in Massachusetts.

“If you know him, if you’re working with him, can you please have him get in touch with me or let me know where I can find him.

“All the girls girls out there, feel free to share. A friend of a friend of a friend has got to know where he is”.

As is commonplace in 2024, an army of keyboard warriors came to the aid of the desperate mother — as well as women who claimed to know the whereabouts of the elusive chef.

TikToker Mary Katherine Samples followed the story closely, with online chatter suggesting the chef had continued cooking throughout the country and had been hooking up with women via online dating apps.

In response to her flooded inbox, Mrs McGuire revealed she knew her husband was “alive” due to multiple tip-offs from such women.

“Yeah, I’ve had a few girls he’s been involved with reach out to me after they found out about me through social media or however else. They’ve been pretty spread across the country though.

“But yes, I’m willing to bet he’s alive.”

Now in possession of his new address thanks to the “girls girls”, it seems all the power now lies in the hands of Mrs McGuire herself to bring him to justice.

Yet the story took another turn when ex-employees of the established chef — who has worked in London, New York and Paris, according to a 2021 Shoutout LA feature — piped up about their parallel search for their former boss.

TikToker Jay Megan noticed the father had appeared on US reality cooking show Chopped, and after being consulted by his former staff, told how he allegedly failed to pay them out when shutting down his Boston restaurant.

She even claimed the elusive operator’s British father had assisted him financially in the past, and that an alleged drug problem may have played a part in his money woes.

Eye-witnesses and online dating app users have since placed the chef around Dallas and Fort Worth in Texas.

“In his Bumble profile he says he is ‘British’ and ‘a chef’ so we’re pretty sure we found the right guy,” TikToker Jay Megan said.

With internet sleuths and ex-employees on his case — in addition to Mrs McGuire herself — the British father’s chance at escape now seems mission impossible.

In a follow up Facebook post, the single mother provided an update to the situation after being inundated with responses.

“Guys….. This is absolutely insane. I figured maybe someone in my area was still in touch with him but I absolutely did not expect this.

“I’ve gotten MORE than enough information to locate him. I have literally thousands of messages to sort through, some with information and some with support and I appreciate all of them.

“Single moms are a special breed, and I know a lot of you have gone through the same situation I have.”

The single mother reiterated it was not retribution she sought but rather an official conclusion for her young family.

“Please know I truly do not wish him any type of ill will. I sincerely appreciate all of your support, but please do not make threats, spread hate, or try to go out and locate him.

“Truly I only want to see the situation resolved so me and my children can restart our lives and fix the damage done.”

For those holding their popcorn, It’s unlikely a climactic end to the saga will occur anytime soon due to the multitude of moving parts.

However, with the infinite storylines and lives touched by the British father, there’s a good chance Hollywood executives will be licking their lips at the narrative.
