Comedian and Roastmaster General Jeff Ross insisted on Tuesday that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft “loved” the joke he made during Tom Brady’s brutal roast.
Ross appeared on The Rich Eisen Show to talk about the aftermath of the Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which streamed live on Netflix as part of this year’s Netflix Is a Joke Fest. Host Rich Eisen asked about the moment that went viral, when Brady approached Ross at the lectern after a joke about Kraft’s involvement in a 2019 sex-trafficking scandal and told him: “Don’t say that shit again.”

So, Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft’s office and said, “I’m the best decision your organization has ever made. Would you like a massage?”
Ross laughed it off at the time, and on Tuesday, he still insisted that it was all in good fun. Eisen asked Ross about the moment a couple of minutes after their conversation began:
Eisen: Was Brady really pissed about you making a crack towards… a massage joke?
Ross: Come on… come on. No way. No way.
Eisen: ‘Cause he came up, he said “Knock that ‘s’ off, Jeff.”
Ross: He was having fun! … That’s his dad, you know? That’s like, Robert Kraft is like a father figure to him, you know? He was just showing his love for Robert Kraft. And Robert Kraft loved it. We had a great talk afterwards, and he was so happy that I gave him a shoutout and a salute. It was beautiful.
Ross also added that Brady was well-prepared to be roasted, saying the NFL legend “loves the roast, he’s a student of the roast.”
