Joy Behar Claims Republicans Are ‘Commies!’ in Bed with Russia

The View’s Joy Behar flat out accused Republicans of being “communists” who would have been “blacklisted” once upon a time.

On Thursday’s episode, Behar and her co-hosts watched clips of multiple fiery exchanges in the House this week, which included Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) laying into Rep. James Comer (R-KY) over a lack of evidence in Republicans’ probe of President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) clashing with multiple Democratic colleagues.

View co-host Whoopi Goldberg described Republicans as “snowflaky,” referencing a popular insult used by conservatives.

“I’m discovering that most of the folks on the other side are the snowflakes. They’re the ones that are afraid of information. They’re the ones who are afraid of history. It’s not us. It’s y’all,” she said.

Behar took things further and accused Republicans of being “in bed” with Russians.

“Why are they in bed with the Russians? I mean, we grew up in a time where if you were pro-Russia in any way, you were hauled before the UAC Committee and you’re life was ruined and you were blacklisted. Now all of a sudden these people are all about Russia,” she said.

The comedian is referencing the House of Un-American Activities Committee, which was created in 1938 to identify communists within the United States. The controversial committee led to individuals being blacklisted in their industry, including Hollywood.

Behar dismissed accusations that Democrats lean more towards communism, accusing Republicans of being the “commies.”

“Why are Americans accepting that all of a sudden? They call Democrats commies. They’re the commies!” she said.

On Wednesday, Raskin accused Greene of “recycling” Russian propaganda in saying tax dollars will support “Ukrainian Nazis.” Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) previously made waves by claiming fellow conservatives are repeating Russian propaganda.

Ukraine has become a hot button issue for House Republicans as a number oppose a current aid package, while supporting aid for Israel. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) separated a larger foreign aid package in a bid to get assistance through the House. He’s also facing threats of a motion to vacate from Greene and others.
