KFC Australia announces major change to its iconic menu items

KFC Australia has announced a major change to its iconic menu items.

The fast food restaurant has given its popular Original burger series a “crispy” makeover — and they are a permanent addition to menus across the nation from Tuesday.

Fans can expect to bite into a crispier chicken burger as the fillets are double breaded and fried.

The burger series, which includes The Original Crispy, The Original Crispy Cheese and Bacon and The Original Crispy Stacker, have been crafted by chefs to feature creamy mayonnaise on top of the iconic chicken fillet.

The fillet itself, has been plunged into breading, not once, but twice, to ensure a satisfying crunch with every bite.

To celebrate the launch of the new series, diners can get their hands on The Original Crispy Burger for free this Friday and Saturday at “The Original Crispery’ pop-up store in Sydney.

The pop-up store in Darlinghurst will offer a range of off-menu items with a KFC twist — including fluffy cheesecake, green chips aka broccolini and asparagus, peanut butter and jam sandwich and more.

“To mark the launch of our new series, it was only appropriate to create an emporium of all things crispy,” Tami Cunningham, chief marketing officer of KFC Australia, said.

“‘The Original Crispery’ promises to be an avalanche on the senses. It will include an exhibition of crispy curiosities, as well as a selection of KFC-ified products, where our talented chefs will put our double breading craft to the test across a range of unexpected yet craveable treats for all fans to taste.”
