Kings Park: Two injured after tree branch falls on them during Australia Day drone and fireworks show

Two people have been injured after a heavy tree branch fell on them in the lead-up to the Australia Day fireworks celebrations at Kings Park on Friday night.

The pair were taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA paramedics about 7pm.

Both were discharged a few hours later.

Photos of the aftermath of the terrifying incident near Fraser Avenue show a crumpled camp chair with a big branch lying nearby.

It came as tens of thousands of people gathered in Kings Park and along the shores of the Swan River to watch the Australia Day drone and fireworks show.
