Located in the Teramachi Kyogoku shopping district, the revamped store spans 570 square meters across four levels, marking a significant upgrade from its former size of 250.8 square meters spread across two floors.

Emphasizing the brand’s ethos of self-expression, the Kyoto store features a Levi’s Tailor Shop experience on its ground floor for alteration, restoration, and customization services.

Customers can customize their Levi’s apparel with unique touches such as embroidery, patches, pins, and fabric paneling. Exclusive to the Kyoto location, shoppers can find rare fabrics sourced from the Chingireya antique textile store and bespoke patches crafted by local illustrator Hideto Honda.

The store houses men’s and women’s apparel alongside iconic Levi’s staples such as the 501 range. As part of the reopening, Levi’s has also introduced limited-edition products, including 501 jeans inspired by stylist and fashion director Akio Hasegawa, as well as t-shirts featuring a distinctive silk-screened 501 calligraphy print by artist Ryusuke Arise.

“As we strive to cultivate lifelong denim fans around the world, we remain committed to bringing the best and fullest expression of the Levi’s brand to their doorstep, while delivering impactful and elevated shopping experiences that resonate with them,” said David Hamaty, general manager for North Asia at Levi’s.

“With the Kyoto store, we’ve built a unique experience representative of the culture and history of the city. We’re also bringing to life exclusive, hyperlocal customization options that will allow shoppers to tailor their Levi’s apparel to their specific taste and expression.”
