Lukas Gage Calls 6-Month Marriage to Chris Appleton a “Manic Episode”

Lukas Gage agrees: Things moved a little too quickly in his romance, brief marriage, and subsequent divorce from Chris Appleton, completing that full cycle within the confines of one calendar year. And there’s one person to whom he’d especially like to apologize: Shania Twain.

The White Lotus actor Gage appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen Tuesday night and recounted his six-month marriage to celebrity hairstylist and Kim Kardashian bestie Appleton,  calling the brief union “a manic episode for six months.”

During his appearance on the Bravo show, Gage discussed the whirlwind romance, in which he and Appleton dated for about two months before getting engaged, and then got married in Las Vegas in matching fur coats, with Kardashian as their officiant.

“I don’t know literally what went through my head, but we live and we learn,” he told host Andy Cohen.

The two tied the knot on April 22, 2023, and announced their marital status to the world via a now-deleted Instagram post from Appleton captioned “we did it,” then filed the necessary  paperwork to legally untie said knot on November 10, 2023.

Gage, 28, implied that he had signed a non-disclosure agreement that prevents him from discussing the finer details of the relationship, though he insisted to Cohen that “there was no cheating.”

Still, Gage smiled through the chat and said that living and learning aside, never say never when it comes to romance. “That’s kind of how I roll. I’m a little impulsive,” he said. “But that was probably one of the most unhinged things I’ve ever done in my life, and I’ll probably have six other marriages.”

After expressing regrets about the “furry jackets” he and Appleton wore for their nuptials (“a horrible idea”), Gage had another mea culpa to dish out, this one for country music star Twain, who performed her song “You’re Still the One” for the duo ahead of their vows.

“I want to apologize to Shania Twain for wasting her time,” he said. “I mean, ‘We’re still holding on, you’re still the one,’ after three weeks, that was unhinged. That was, like, the biggest waste of her time. I love you Shania, I’m really sorry about that.”

Representatives for Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage did not respond to Vanity Fair’s requests for comment.
