Luke Noormets’ mother praised Georgia Lyall as a ‘wonderful Mum’ to her grandson just weeks before her murder

Just weeks before her son killed himself and his ex-girlfriend in a horrific murder-suicide, Luke Noormets’ mother was heaping praise on the ‘wonderful’ young mum and the way she cared for her now-orphaned grandson.

Former Rebels bikie nominee Noormets, 33, was found dead at 11.30am on Thursday inside a burnt-out Escot Road home in Innaloo. He is believed to have taken his own life.

The grisly discovery came less than an hour after police found Georgia Lyall, 31, dead inside her Sabina Road home in South Guildford after residents heard a gunshot, believed to have been fired by Noormets.

Ms Lyall was left to raise her and Noormets’ son as a single mum after he was sentenced to seven years in jail in 2017 for kidnapping a drug dealer and subjecting himself to 13 hours of torture which included setting him on fire and waterboarding.

Despite Noormets being in jail from June, 2017, Ms Lyall appeared to maintain a relationship with her ex-partner’s family.

On May 14, Noormets’ mother Trish penned a heartwarming tribute to the young mum on her birthday.

“To our amazing Georgia – thank you for being a wonderful Mum to our grandson. Double barrel today with having a special birthday too. We are blessed to have you in our lives,” she wrote, sharing photos of Ms Lyall and the young boy.

Ms Lyall replied, thanking Ms Amaranti for her help over the years.

“Thank you for being the best grandma to our boy and such a big support for me,” she wrote.

Social media posts from Noormets’ family revealed he was out of jail and back with his child and Ms Lyall in December, 2021.

The couple appeared to reunite for some time, sharing happy photos of the three of them together, before the posts stopped.

Police rushed to the South Guildford home on Thursday and made the grisly discovery.

The couple’s son will now be cared for by Ms Lyall’s mother Robyn, according to a GoFundMe set up for the family.

“Georgia was an extremely dedicated mum who was doing an amazing job raising (him) on her own,” the page read.

The murder-suicide tragedy comes as it’s revealed the drug dealer Noormets bashed, abducted, water-boarded and set alight over a ‘small drug transaction’ was the ex-boyfriend of Ms Lyall.
